luc what a precious band! Those words in the each song come from somewhere deep and they just resonate beautifully with well crafted pop tunes. Graveyard club is amazing. this album is timeless already.

Caleb Caldwell After falling in love with Goodnight Paradise then moving on to give their new album a try, I wasn't quite sure that it would live up to what came before. I quickly realized every song on this album is absolutely beautiful. Then I heard the chorus of Valens. Valens' final chorus is as good as music gets, and I'm jealous that I didn't write it. Favorite track: Valens.

Tyler I'm so happy I heard this band on local college radio a few months ago. Have been going through the discography and love everything they've done! They keep getting better and bring a deeper emotional edge than you typically find in synthpop revival type bands. I hope they're around for a long time to come! Favorite track: Elegy.

Nowhere 03:29
What’s it gonna to take to belong in the golden sun? And whatcha gonna say on the day all your friends are gone? I stayed awake with you Listening to Harvest Moon and Déjà Vu I’m always blue It’s getting closer I know where. I’m nowhere How’s it gonna feel to be real in a world that’s fake? And how you gonna heal when you break everything you make? We stayed awake til dawn Watched the sunlight slowly spread across the lawn. I’m always gone. It’s getting closer I know where. I’m nowhere It’s getting closer I know where. I’m nowhere

Spellsong 04:01
Just start the car Keep driving Don’t fall apart Stop crying You build it up To collapse again I’m a house of cards You’re a gust of wind Time never stops Keep trying The moments here Now it’s dying Another day Waiting outside My stomachs full Of butterflies Never gonna get over it Get used to it Not knowing You’re an outsider Stay golden It’s my own mind I can’t escape I’m a hummingbird In a gilded cage It’s rising up That ancient sound Of yesterday Stuck underground Try to give it up Try to get it back There’s no way to stop the spell you cast I want to go under it Just start the car Keep driving Don’t fall apart Stop crying Never gonna get over it

Rose Vine 03:56
Hold on you’ll be gone in a heartbeat Let go of the past it’s a dead scene Don’t cry if you never know why Cause it’s alright baby alright baby alright These days roll away like thunder Under taker take me under Left here with nothing to wonder Coming undone trying to become younger Don’t follow the crowd for a good life Don’t answer the phone after midnight Don’t look for a sign that you can’t find Nobody knows where it goes in the meantime Just take it all in keep standing Its all in your head don’t panic I’ll see you again at the ending Let it all die let it all die Diane My heart’s like the high tide, its pulled by the moonlight My head’s like a rose vine, it climbs toward the sunshine I keep reaching for, something more, oh Hold on to a song like a lifeline Try hard to belong to what’s not mine Don’t die trying to follow the light Cause it’s alright baby alright baby alright It’s all been around for its own sake This world is a play full of heartbreak You’ll find that all of its fake Don’t take it away take it away I hope that this pain sticks around maybe Wasted your life feeling down baby It’s no fair You’re nowhere now And back there you’re all watching me laughing All of this grief that Just keeps happening Get there I don’t care how My heart’s like the high tide, its pulled by the moonlight My head’s like a rose vine, it climbs toward the sunshine I keep reaching for, something more, oh

Closer Passing under streetlights Closing in on midnight Counting the ways that Nothing ever Nothing ever felt right Closer Tied too tight together Reflected in the mirror Telling yourself you're fine, You’re fine, You’re fine, You’re fine, You’re finally Closer Miles past the grey girls Far out from this dead world Finally these bones can let it go Now the wolves are in their cage And the dragon has been slayed But another one waits Another Another Let the sunlight slowly fade Let the darkness take the day Another one waits Another Another Sing sing sing, so sweetly Now the wolves are in their cage And the dragon has been slayed But another one waits Another Another Let the sunlight slowly fade Let the darkness take the day Another one waits Another Another

Moonglow 04:50
You’re gonna lose it It’s gonna slip through your hands Covered in bruises Into thin air again When you get older You’re gonna miss all your friends Wanna come over And wait for the night to end? When I was your age I played it too safe Summers in the shade Pink lemonade No one to follow No one to float over your head Covered in Moonglow Into thin air instead Nobody knows kid Aren’t you tired of pretend? Stuck in a daydream Every dream has to end When you are my age You’ll feel the same way The sparkle and the fade A passing parade I used to Know it Now I Doubt it I see no Other Way around it Gone for good Into another world
6.
Valens 04:19
It’s been a long winter Or been a short fall Ice on the windshield You let your hair grow long Lost in coin toss A roll of the dice Isn’t that the same way? Ritchie Valens died? It’s been a long night and I’ve had enough Oh, little dove It’s hard to remember I try to forget Tomorrow’s a mess that Hasn’t happened yet Where is this going? It doesn’t make sense Grinding your teeth down You dream too tense If you’re gonna go go all the way Oh, don’t even start When the clock strikes eleven Your soul goes to heaven Tell everyone you’ve ever met You still love them Float there for hours All showered in flowers And pray for the day That the night won’t devour If you’re gonna go If you’re gonna go If you’re gonna go go all the way If you’re gonna go When the clock strikes eleven Your soul goes to heaven Tell everyone you’ve ever met You still love them Float there for hours All showered in flowers And pray for the day That the night won’t devour Keep wishing and wishing Whatever you’re missing The moonlight is singing But nobody listens Asleep in the abyss Of people before this Just open your eyes And walk into the forest All the tree branches bow to me I’m finally no one Oh.

Spirit Boy 03:07
There’s nowhere left for anyone to go, I know Wandering a different dead-end road, It shows You finally turn the page, And find another highway Wide awake and waiting for daylight, tonight All you ever wanted was a life, Yeah right Breathe that salty air, No ones really anywhere Cheerleaders dressed up in grey Bawl my eyes out in the rain Nothing changed, I’m insane, Spirit boy No one dreams here anymore Show me all the secret doors, other shores What’s life for, Spirit boy? I closed my eyes but still could see the light, behind I blacked out smelling flowers in the sun, I died Let everything fade, it never mattered anyway Cheerleaders dressed up in grey Bawl my eyes out in the rain Nothing changed, I’m insane, Spirit boy No one dreams here anymore Show me all the secret doors, other shores What’s life for, Spirit boy? Cheerleaders dressed up in grey Bawl my eyes out in the rain Nothing changed, I’m insane, Spirit boy No one dreams here anymore Show me all the secret doors, other shores What’s life for, Spirit boy?

I always kept your silhouette Tied tightly around my neck It reminds me to try to forget my head And everything in it But some days I start feeling weak I dig a whole a mile deep It’s so far down I cannot see a thing And suddenly, suddenly It’s broken, wide open I keep this string around my wrist For days that haven't happened yet It reminds me to never forget the world And everyone in it But some days it all starts to fade I’m out of touch and out of place I’m so far gone I cannot find a way And suddenly, suddenly It’s broken, wide open The weather’s gotten worse, its unraveling the earth Sweet summer melodies, singing you back to sleep Cry in the midnight breeze, tears running down your cheek give me another world, more than the one I see Doubt every single word but trust in the poetry I still can’t explain how it felt Watching it fall apart I don’t recognize myself, yearbooks and broken hearts Life is a great mirage You’ll never see it right Keep watching the sky for god, bent, like a ray of light My thoughts are all poisonous Mist blowing in the wind My words are all meaningless My mouths full of cinnamon

Halloween 03:53
Go through all the grey together Nothing gold can stay forever Life’s a joke But it’s not funny Meet me on the highway honey Everyone that came before us Vanished in the same old forest Yesterday is underwater Meet me by the river brother You You’ll be waiting there for me With a rose between your teeth Getting closer I I’ll be wrapped up in a sheet Like a kid on Halloween When it’s over No one ever keeps a promise Praying for another comet Nothing here is gonna save me Meet me in the moonlight baby You You’ll be waiting there for me With a rose between your teeth Getting closer I I’ll be wrapped up in a sheet Like a kid on Halloween When it’s over Oh Take the picture from the frame Take the flicker from the flame And let it go
10.
Elegy 03:25
Today I woke up feeling older Drag the lake The summers over Wrap my head In crowns of clover Every night Jackie’s dancing all alone UFOs And broken bones Crawling up That never-ending mountainside What you lose You’ll find it again in the sky Until then It’s a lifetime of goodbyes Today I woke up feeling empty It’s all ahead Or all behind me Always looking Never finding any sun Come together Fall apart Bury it in the backyard Say something sweet An elegy for everyone The things you love Will one day return to the sea? Until then Hold on tightly to everything If I have a soul How would I know? The moon is blue It cries overhead every night I turn away And spend my whole life Wondering why

about

Graveyard Club Minneapolis, Minnesota

In the fall of 2013, Graveyard Club recorded a batch of spooky, synth-laden 80’s pop songs in the basement of a 19th century mansion in St. Paul, MN. Originally comprised of Matthew Schufman (vocals, keys) and Michael Wojtalewicz (guitar), the band expanded to include Cory Jacobs (drums) and Amanda Zimmerman (bass, backing vocals). ... more
